January Junior Star

The Dingley Spoorts and Recreation Club Junior Sports Star for January is Jeremiah Jeanes.

Jeremiah was the Victorian Schools State Triple Jump Bronze medalist.

This was an outstanding achievement considering Jeremiahs background.

A trampolining accident three years ago left Jeremiah with stress fractures of the back. He missed all sport that year and attempted a return to athletics 2018. Unfortunately whilst competing in Little Aths, he again was hospitalised due to his back injury.  That meant no sport for the year and plenty of treatment. Devastating for the sports loving Jeremiah.

2019 saw Jeremiah running again. As the year progressed he went through the levels of athletic competition. He won 6 events at his school sports from which he chose Discus and Triple Jump to take to the Division Competition.

Given his injury setbacks Jeremiahs results were outstanding.

In the Divisional he placed 1st in both events, 1st for Triple Jump and 2nd for Discus at the Regional's and Bronze medal for the Triple Jump at the State Championships.

Jeremiah, now competing in Athletics Victoria events, is an athlete to watch as he progresses  through the grades.
